Yes I am bringing you in on another free thing!

Ozz Fest is free this year! Yes that is right Ozzie and Sharon Osbourne are making it free with Ozzie headlining! Sharon said that ticket prices are going way to high for concerts these days, she does know that big bands will not be able to play for free at every show, so she would like to see them come out to certain dates. She had said too that this is ground breaking and that those big bands should want to be a part of something this big.

Sharon is also allowing them to book shows in local venues the sameday of Ozz Fest for the bands playing.

How to make your money in the music BizI am going to give you some free advice! That’s right some free advice on how to make money in the music biz! You might be telling  yourself, nothing is free in this world anymore, and you are wrong! I am going to give you something free and asking nothing in return, if you feel compelled to leave a comment feel “free” too, again the word free are you not loving this or what?! Okay off the the part on how to “MAKE THE MONEY”! I have forever since I was a kid at the age of three when I would rock out to heavy metal with my plastic guitar, and had all my rock moves correlated in. My dad owned 7 record labels growing up, one of them was Frontline Records, I tell you this cause from being around the music industry since I remember, recalling anything about life its self, has allowed me to see how the music biz has evolved. I would go spend time with the artists and bands ride in their limos to their shows, and from their I knew I wanted to OWN A RECORD LABEL, yes own a huge one! When I graduated high school, I thought I wanted a huge record label, and that yes a lot of money would be flood gated through. However through being Director of A&R at only 19 straight out of high school, I learned, how record labels can screw over artists, and they will if they can, I don’t think the music inudstry is sufferring only because of downloading, but as well becuase of how the record labels have screwed over bands and artists, I am honored to know that my dad did things right with his label and how he treated his artists and bands, however most labels do not believe in business and ethics going hand in hand. Thus leading me to how to make money outside of the record label. I have noticed that the big money is at getting your songs on movie Sound tracks, tv Shows, and video games. If you build your contacts, and get your music in the right hands, this will open up the best way to make money for yourself. I am not a big fan of Record labels, I have yet to find one of late, that I would trust and or want to be a part of, I will let you all know when or if I find a good one. I am a big fan of bigger independant labels. Major labels, will put you on the shelf or take forever to put out your music. I will leave you with that for now.

The Artist of the week

Chelsey Corbett has won the artist of the week, simply cause of her talent and exceptional professionalism. She is a voice to be heard, and one I believe will be, local radio stations have already played her stuff, as well as even a radio station in Australia, she is looking to take her career to the next level. Get ready for your future superstar, that doesnt need the name or the fame to feel accomplished, she says what she feels, and sings in what she believes, something I think we should all learn from.

Chelsey Corbett does have a myspace:
